What is Collegiate Farm Bureau?
The New Mexico State University Collegiate Farm & Livestock Bureau was founded on the same principles as the New Mexico Farm & Livestock Bureau. It is an organization of college students at New Mexico State University who are interested in agriculture, working together to protect our traditional values and our western way of life. We are always looking for new ideas and fresh faces.
What does Collegiate Farm Bureau do?
This organization's main goal is to promote agricultural awareness for everyone. Over the year we help out in the community any way we can. This includes involvement in Agriculture Awareness Days at elementary schools, numerous community service events including Food Check Out Day, Cowboys for Cancer Team Roping, Southern NM State Fair and more. As a member of Collegiate Farm Bureau you are encouraged to attend state and local Farm Bureau meetings. As our young members pursue a career in agriculture.
Collegiate Farm Bureau is an excellent way to network with the leaders in our industry. Members attend several out of state conventions and leadership workshops to further enhance our program while gaining valuable knowledge.
Collegiate Farm Bureau is a self-supporting organization. The club raises funds through dues and fundraising activities held during the year. Our major fundraisers are our silent auction, which takes place at the New Mexico Farm and Livestock Bureau's Annual Convention in November and our Rattlesnake Open golf tournament at our Summer Leadership Conference. Money raised is used to send our members to various meetings and conventions in and out of state.
Now is the time to join Collegiate Farm Bureau!
NMSU Collegiate Farm & Livestock Bureau is one of only a few such organizations in the country. Now is the time to get involved in this fun and exciting agricultural organization. All are welcome to join and all you need is an interest in agriculture and a willingness to belong and help out. Joining an organization is a great way to meet people and make friends. If you are looking for something fun to participate in, we may be the group for you. Please contact us for more information.
